The company was founded in 1936 by Nikolaos Tsoungaris and his son, Asterios. It developed and thrived with Filippos Tsoungaris at the helm. Today, Maria, Stergios, Alexis, and Agnes are expanding the family business and lead the Biscotti Tsoungari team, leveraging the business heritage and values that it was built upon: having faith in quality, gratitude, originality, and hard work.
Nikolaos Tsoungaris opens his dairy shop with creams, ice creams and confectionery at Vas. Olgas st., in Thessaloniki.
Asterios Tsoungaris opens the second traditional dairy shop of the family. The store quickly becomes a supplier for many large and well-known patisseries back then.
Having grown up among sweet smells, creams and pastries, Filippos Tsoungaris, enters the family business.
Filippos opens the traditional bakery pastry unit and the shop in Thessaloniki and enriches the product array with more confectionery, cakes and desserts. The first steps are taken towards the organized production of cookies and soft-breads.
Alongside the legendary Petit Four, a unique recipe by Filippos Tsoungaris, the popular to this day, Cookies with sesame and honey is launched.
The management of the company passes down to the third generation, Maria and Stergios.
The company acquires new facilities covering an area of 1,100 sq.m. in Thermi, Thessaloniki, with a new state-of-the-art confectionery plant and a new retail outlet.
A new production line of traditional syrup desserts is dedicated to the recipes of great grandfather Asterios.
The company acquires its current brandname Biscotti-Tsoungari SA and a modern shop in Nea Krini. At the same time, its export activity begins.
Markolato is launched, the gourmet sweet stick inspired by Marcos, the eldest grandchild of the family.
Mr. Cooloorakis is introduced on the shelves of large stores abroad and in Greece. The range of the retail products is enriched.
Even greater emphasis is placed on raw materials, the expanding of the product range and the competitiveness of the company.
The company’s facilities in Thermi are expanding covering today, an area of 1,400 sq.m..
Biscotti Tsoungari products are available in deli shops, supermarkets and outlets in more than 10 countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Belgium, England, Denmark, USA, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the far-away Australia, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Latvia, Japan.
